Rumor has it that Captain Marvel star Brie Larson is receiving a lot of attention from her Marvel co-stars. Captain America Chris Evans and Black Panther actor Michael B. Jordan are reportedly competing to date the actress.
The tabloid paper New Women (NW) published the story about this competition between Evans and Jordan. A source informed the magazine that two men are "jumping at the chance" to date Larson, Hollywood's current box office queen.
But Gossip Cop has debunked the story and described this as pure tabloid fantasy. A spokesperson for the actress confirmed it's a made-up report since Evans and Jordan's relationship with the actress is purely professional.
Evans did congratulate Larson on Twitter for the success of Captain Marvel, but their exchange was hardly romantic. The two actors had worked together way before they got on board the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Jordan and Larson, on the other hand, have also worked together on the film Just Mercy.
In January, People reported that Larson and her fiance Alex Greenwald had ended their three-year relationship. Greenwald is the lead singer of the band Phantom Plant, and they were living together during their relationship.
Larson and Greenwald got engaged in Tokyo in 2016, but the couple has mostly kept their romance away from the press. When Larson won Best Actress awards for the movie Room, she always acknowledged Greenwald in her speeches.
People also noted, however, that the ex-couple are still close. During an interview with Wired, Larson said that she would probably need to go back to working out more with someone named Alex, but she didn't make it clear if she was referring to her ex.
Meanwhile, Larson is relishing on her Captain Marvel glory. The movie, which is currently still running in theaters, has hit $760 million at the domestic box office and is nearly crossing over the billion-dollar mark in the global receipts.
The actress is expected to reprise her superhero role in April for the Avengers: Endgame with Evans, Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Robert Downey, Jr. (Iron Man). Marvel boss Kevin Feige confirmed that her character would be leading the MCU in the next phase.
It's no secret that some of the actors in the MCU are retiring their roles, while a new batch of younger superheroes are taking over as this movie world has entered its fourth phase. Also, based on the box office results, a Captain Marvel sequel is likely going to happen.
