Rumors show that Apple is currently preparing for the release of the AirPower charging mat. The signs revealed after changes in how the wireless charging was found in the sixth iOS 12.2. The developer beta has mentioned that the charging of multiple devices can be done simultaneously.

The AirPower is Apple's long-delayed wireless charging mat. It is capable of recharging three different devices at the same time. It has been speculated to arrive in the first half of 2019. However, it is not yet confirmed by the company. But there are more signs that the tech giant is building support for the accessory into the company's products.

Recently, it is believed that an iPhone charging on the AirPower mat will be showing a 3D animation of all devices on the mat, on its display. It includes the indicators for charging status when the recharging started. The references in the wireless charging section of the operating code of the system us in the sixth iOS 12.2 developer beta, that have been found to enable the graphics.

To enable the new feature, Apple might typically include changes to code in its betas. It is part of its testing process. It sometimes includes the codes supporting unannounced devices. According to 9to5Mac, it is probably one of the clearest signs that the AirPower is on the way and it might arrive soon.

In regards to when it would actually be launched, it is a possibility that Apple will not ship the AirPower before the company releases the iOS 12.2 to the public. Thus, there is a possibility to happen within days or the next few weeks as the developer beta has reached its generation of builds, according to Apple Insider.

Meanwhile, the AirPower had an unstable journey with regards to its release. The initial unveiling of Apple is in December of 2017. It claims that it will launch in 2018. However, rumors pointed to a release in March but still no avail. It then turned into a September launch which also did not happen.

As follows, in September, Apple seemed to wipe out almost all mentions regarding the AirPower from its website. It then led to speculation that it was either delayed or abandoned. Thus, there were suggestions that the tech giant had some problems in implementing the technology. As it needs to enable multi-device charging while remaining the Qi standards. But rumors and supply chain started to back up again saying that the project was not canceled at all.
