Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry recently moved into their new home at the Frogmore Cottage in Windsor. The couple, who are expecting the birth of their first-born in the next two or three weeks, left their Kensington home in London in favor of a quieter life in the smaller town.
The Frogmore Cottage has fewer neighbors compared to the Kensington environment. Windsor is also a lot less populated than their former London digs, and royal watchers say that this would be a great place to raise a child.
Prior to the move, Markle was working with home designers to renovate the 10-bedroom property the Queen gifted to the couple. The Frogmore Cottage used to be an apartment row, but the Sussexes turned it into a single unit.
Royal experts, on the other hand, told that press that because of this move, the former Hollywood actress would likely give birth at a hospital nearer to their new house. Traditionally, royal births happen at the Lindo Wing in London, where Kate Middleton gave birth to her children with Prince William.
But Markle and Prince Harry have been doing their own thing and haven't been dictated by royal protocols. Thus, no one knows if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will announce the baby's birth in the same way that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced their children's arrival.
Prince Harry is reportedly eager to finally see his baby in the flesh as he cannot wait to become a dad. Markle's mom, Doria Ragland, is expected to arrive in the U.K. to help her daughter with the baby's birth.
Days before the move to Frogmore Cottage, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex officially launched their Instagram account at @SussexRoyal. According to BBC, the profile instantly hit over one million followers five hours after it went live.
In late 2018, Kensington Palace confirmed that Markle and Prince Harry would have to split their household with Prince William and Middleton. The move was necessary to differentiate the two houses since Prince William, the future heir to the throne, would have more responsibilities in the future.
"The Queen has agreed to the creation of a new household for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, following their marriage in May last year," the official palace announcement stated, as per Entertainment Weekly. "This long-planned move will ensure that permanent support arrangements for the Duke and Duchess' work are in place as they start their family and move to their official residence at Frogmore Cottage."
