G-Dragon (Kwon Ji-yong) emerged as the top KPop group leader likely most affected by the problems of his bandmates, an online poll has revealed. The singer from the group Big Bang earned 38 percent of the votes from fans who also picked Doojoon (Yoon Doo-joon) of Highlight (12.2 percent) and Leeteuk (Park Jeong-su) of Super Junior (11.7 percent) as the most concerned group leaders.

According to AllKPop, Exciting DC created the fan poll, which ran from March 31 to April 6 and attracted around 2,435 respondents. Other KPop group leaders included in the survey who did not gain substantial votes were Suho from EXO, Jaejoong from JYJ and Eun Ji Won from Sechskies.

In March, G-Dragon's co-member Seungri (Lee Seung-hyun) announced that he was retiring from Big Bang and the South Korean entertainment scene following charges that tied him to a prostitution ring. According to BBC, Seungri brought prostitutes to business investors to his business, Yuri Holdings, but he denied ever participating in such activities.

Police questioned Seungri in February after reports of sex bribery and drug activity at the watering hole Burning Sun. Investigators alleged that these illegal deeds have been happening since 2015.

Fans of Big Bang, dubbed the Kings of KPop, demanded Seungri to leave the group for damaging its reputation. Those loyal to the singer and rapper, however, fortified their support over the fallen star.

But G-Dragon himself was embroiled in a controversy around the same time as Seungri's problems with the law emerged. There were allegations that the pop star was receiving preferential treatment in the military because of his status as a celebrity.

G-Dragon has been serving the 3rd Infantry Division since February 2018, and he's set to finish his duty by November 2019. However, there were reports that he was placed in a VIP room reserved for higher ranking officers when he suffered an ankle injury, as per Soompi.

The singer also seemingly had liberties to take longer off days and sick leaves. However, the Korean Army Chief of Staff Kim Yoo Wong denied the speculations about the Big Bang leader's status, citing that the South Korean military is strict and fair with all of its servicemen.

The future now remains uncertain for Big Bang with Seungri's retirement. It's also not just G-Dragon who is currently completing his military service as Taeyang and Daesung had also enlisted in March 2018.
