Seungri seems to have a lot on his plate right now, especially after a new report came out uncovering yet another case of alleged peddling of prostitution in 2015, over which he is now being additionally investigated.
The former Big Bang member, Lee Seung-hyun, or Seungri (or even V.I.), as he is more widely recognized, is now being investigated for a 2015 case of procuring prostitution, after just recently being slapped with the same charges for his 2017 Palawan, Philippines, role in hiring a group of entertainers for some businessmen.
The report came out on the South Korean television network JTBC's news program Newsroom on April 10.
The South Korean actor-now-turned-business-man was said to have made available his alleged escort services at a dinner engagement where foreign investors and businessmen were in attendance. The social gathering was purportedly held at a well-known dining place, Club Arena, in Gangnam, Seoul, in December 2015.
A witness who worked at the said restaurant was interviewed by the police and revealed that Seungri had a spacious area reserved on the second floor of the dining place. However, it is thought that the group may have moved to another venue where the former entertainer had carried out his role as a purveyor of women peddling sexual favors.
The investigators are now looking out for more information regarding the case and the identities of the guests as well as the women who were supposedly present during the said gathering. The entrepreneur has denied these recent allegations through his lawyer.
Despite the denials, recent intelligence gathered from an acquaintance of Seungri, Ilyo Shinmun, makes the charges even more serious because this new witness alleges that besides the two instances the police know about, the South Korean star also procured the same at "other" venues.
Shinmun went through rigorous questioning on March 25 and 28, and his testimony appears even more damning because he played significant roles in these undertakings of prostitution, incriminating himself.
The witness took responsibility for managing the women supposedly involved, and his role included paying these women some four million won ($3,518) each for trips overseas, and supposedly another two million won for work done at local establishments.
In addition to this development, Seungri has been arrested for the "distribution" of videos which were filmed under illegal circumstances, according to the Seoul Metropolitan Police. He was also identified as being involved in the distribution of an illegally obtained sexually explicit photograph which he supposedly shared in a group chat with another entertainer, Jung Joon-young.
The source of the illicit photo is being investigated at the moment.
