Once again, Samsung is telling the world that they are on the verge of revolutionizing the Smartphone industry. Just this week, the South Korean tech mogul announced the arrival of the Galaxy A80 with a radical rotating camera. They also have plans to expand the Galaxy Note 10 and of course, its 5G efforts are worth mentioning.
Samsung is no newbie when it comes to advanced innovations, and it the Galaxy Fold will indeed usher in what they see as the New Era of Mobile Leadership. According to the company's official website, reservations for the Samsung Galaxy Fold will open tomorrow in lieu of its US release this month.
Samsung Electronics America Senior Vice President and Carrier Sales and Operations Chief Travis Warren said that the launching of the Galaxy Fold marks a "pivotal moment" for US users. In addition, Samsung is looking that the Galaxy Fold, along with the Galaxy S10 5G will take the company's "legacy to a whole new level." With that said, both devices will, in their own way, redefine "the future of the mobile landscape."
Phone Arena extended Samsung's invitation by saying that consumers who want to have their hands on the Galaxy Fold can register via Samsung's official website. Since the company said that supplies of the Galaxy Fold are "limited," the website is encouraging those who "have the money" to register as soon as Samsung gives the go signal.
US Carriers who will offer the Samsung Galaxy Fold are T-Mobile and AT&T. The former, Phone Arena added, will start the roll out the Fold online starting April 25. T-Mobile, on the other hand, will sell the device in their physical stores on the 26th, as well as T-Mobile. Select Best Buys and Samsung Experience Stores should also display the Galaxy Fold in their shelves.
The Galaxy Fold is the result of Samsung's constant thrust to create a tangible and realistic folding Smartphone. After "1,000 prototypes and hundreds of designs", the Samsung Galaxy Fold is the world's "first-of-its-kind" Smartphone cum tablet. It can survive at least 200,000 folds and unfolds and should stand up to a hundred folds a day for 5 years without break or damage.
Making up the Samsung Galaxy Fold's breakthrough flexible inner screen is a 7.3inch Dynamic AMOLED with 1536x2152 pixels. The device's outer screen meanwhile is a 4.6inch Super AMOLED display screen with 840x1960 pixels. The Smartphone will run on Android 9.0 Pie, while a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 octa-core CPU will power the Fold.
There's also 12GB of RAM, 512GB of onboard storage, two batteries (4,380mAh in total), dual selfie snapper and triple cameras with 2x optical zoom at the back. Users, however, won't find the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack on the Samsung Galaxy Fold. The device is also not dust and water resistant and won't carry 5G. Samsung said in February that the Galaxy Fold would cost $1,980, but there's no update from the company about its current price.
