The 2019 commemorative Easter egg designed for the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, was revealed recently at the White House. It bears a resplendent design reflecting her youth wellness campaign slogan "Be Best."
With the White House Easter Egg Roll just around the corner, the sophisticatedly decorated piece has sparked some interest, being said to be the most fetching of Easter eggs ever designed. It sports an elaborate pattern of blue swirls with a multitude of flowers in different hues.
The "Be Best" logo is carried out in cursive style, and the egg sits on a small gold stand.
Melania's "Be Best" campaign was started last year as an attempt to positively address concerns in the American society at present which are directly affecting the nation's youth, including online bullying and the rising tide of drug abuse, especially that of opioid abuse.
The First Lady believes that it is the present generation's "moral imperative" to take the reins in working for a solution and to take part and assist "our children" to address the many problems they are confronting in this age.
The FLOTUS' "Be Best" initiative is a way to encourage "social, emotional, and physical" practices that will enable the youth of the nation to tackle such challenges.
The charming look exhibited on this year's White House Easter Egg took inspiration from drawings and designs submitted by children of American egg farmers from all over the nation. The eggs---all 74,000 pieces, accordingly a record number this year---will be provided by the aforementioned farmers solely for the upcoming White House Easter Egg activities.
It will be the 141st White House Easter Egg event, a tradition held annually on the South Lawn of the White House. This practice goes back to as early as 1977, both the egg presentation as well as the crafting. For many years, the America's egg farmers, represented by the American Egg Board, have been supporting the commemorative Easter egg ceremony.
Last year, the commemorative Easter egg bore rhinestones and glitter and appeared be-winged from the casing it came in which would come open just like wings. It even had figures inside of it, miniatures of Melania as well as President Donald Trump, which were waving.
The design of the annual egg is based on the interests of the First Lady who is in the White House. It could reflect programs she is passionate about or may represent a personal hobby, interest, or preference.
Easter egg activities include the anticipated Egg Roll and egg decorating. Some of the eggs provided will also be used in EggPops. A whopping number of 30,000 families are slated to be in attendance during the eagerly awaited yearly event.
The First Lady will be receiving on Monday this year's specially arrayed Easter egg from the American Egg Board, in the name of the egg farmers of the United States of America.
