Reports say Queen Elizabeth "infuriated" Prince Charles after snubbing Camilla Parker Bowles at his birthday more than decades ago. Her Majesty reportedly disapproves the relationship of the two back then, and many were reportedly aware of that.

Prior to Princess Diana's tragic death in 1997, the Princess of Wales said her relationship with Prince Charles would never work out because there were "three" of them in their marriage. Her statements hinted that his husband and Camilla were having a secret affair. After Diana's death, Camilla reportedly had a hard time winning the sympathy of the public, as well as Queen Elizabeth.

According to previous reports, Her Majesty hosted a party to celebrate Prince Charles' 50th birthday, but Camilla was not on the guest list. In the book The Untold Story written by royal biographer Penny Junor, she notes that the public display of warmth between them during that night belied the real situation. The Prince of Wales was reportedly "infuriated" by Queen Elizabeth's hostility towards the woman he loved.

Reports say many people know Her Majesty disapproved the relationship of her son and Camilla. In the book Rebel Prince: The Power, Passion, and Defiance of Prince Charles, Tom Bower noted there was one night Prince Charles approached Queen Elizabeth, requesting his mother to warm up to his girlfriend.

Reportedly, the Queen was drinking several martinis that night and not in a good mood to approve her son's request. She was allegedly furious and even referred Camilla as a "wicked woman." Also, other reports claim Queen Elizabeth said she has nothing to do with her son's girlfriend.

But then, two decades have passed after that event, and the relationship between the two has improved now. It is also that Queen Elizabeth started to recognize the significance of Camilla in the life of Prince Charles.

For instance, the Prince of Wales celebrated his 70th birthday back in November, in which both his second wife and mother were present on occasion. Her Majesty even gave a toast for the celebrant and mentioned the role of the Duchess of Cornwall in the life of her son.

Queen Elizabeth said in her speech that she's privileged to propose a toast on her son on his 70th birthday as that only means she has lived long enough to see her children grow. Before she ended the speech, Her Majesty praised the Duchess of Cornwall and noted how she helped Prince Charles to become "his own man."
