Foods that the blood needs are those that are rich in iron, folic acid, vitamin B-12, copper, and vitamin A, according to Health Line. Foods that are high in iron are beans, legumes, egg yolks, dried fruits, and green leafy vegetables. You might also want to consume enough quantity of these foods to increase your blood's folic acid: lentils, peas, beans, nuts, enriched cereals, enriched bread, and green leafy vegetables. Also, you may want to include these foods in your diet for vitamins B-12: fish, cheese, milk, and eggs.
