Gwen Stefani's boys---12-year-old Kingston, 10-year-old Zuma, and 5-year-old Apollo---look to Blake Shelton as a "father figure" and are "appreciative of him" taking the role as their step dad. The three children are the actress' sons with her former husband, Gavin Rossdale.

Stefani and Shelton along with the children even celebrated the Easter holiday "as a family" because the 49-year-old and her sons see the country music songwriter as a "father figure," a source who is close to the couple is said to have revealed.

The Stefani sons are said to be "very appreciative" of Shelton for his presence in their lives, and they "love and respect him" pretty much.

Shelton, for his part, is said to have taken his role very much to heart and has been a good model to the growing youngsters. And he is loving every minute of it, even though he has never had children of his own.

He accordingly takes his step dad duties pretty seriously, although it is not his intention to usurp that place reserved for the boys' real father, Rossdale. This is just as well because the British singer still also plays a significant role in his children's lives.

Although Stefani and Rossdale divorced in 2015, the latter has figured largely in the boy's lives. However, whatever Shelton shares with Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo does not take away anything from the relationship that Rossdale has with his three sons.

The Bush lead singer has always been a good father to the young men, which makes the arrangement all the more agreeable for the three.

The reliable source has also revealed that Shelton made the call to step up and fill the role of step dad. And since Rossdale is in the picture as well, Stefani's boys receive the "best of both worlds." The arrangement is a "healthy" one as everybody is "getting along" well.

Shelton has been married previously to singer Miranda Lambert, but the two have already split and never had children of their own.

It was recently reported that the "Austin" singer was dissed at by Lambert early in April at the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas. Shelton and Stefani were seated in the front row when the "Little Red Wagon" singer threw shade at Shelton by changing the song's lyrics.

This was seen by many as an effort to take a dig at her ex, Shelton, although there was no indication that the television personality took any of it to heart. And apparently, the very much present Stefani did not either, as the two were said to have just laughed the matter off.
