Read At Your Own Risk: This article may contain possible spoilers for S.W.A.T. Season 2.
A lot has already happened in the lives of everyone in S.W.A.T. Season 2. And with Hondo's recent stepping back from the lone gunman case, it seems that his return to the team will welcome him with much more chaotic and challenging cases.
Apparently, the official synopsis partially revealed that the whole team will face The Emancipators who happens to be a militant group that enforces a "Kangaroo Court." And this court is not founded for simple and low-time criminals. The Emancipators actually targets politicians and individuals from various positions.
But while the season finale seems to have a very dark and barbaric tone, it is also hinted that S.W.A.T. Season 2 Episode 23 might be very dramatic and emotional. In fact, Cartermatt takes the upcoming finale episode as an installment that will largely emphasize the family subject.
Looking back at the previous episodes, every fan and viewer certainly noticed how dramatic and emotional it was for Hondo when Daryll's life was put in danger. As a matter of fact, this is the main reason why he stepped back from the Trigger Creeper case last episode.
And now that the danger has been dealt with already by Hondo, it seemingly appears that he will try to "uplift" Daryll's spirits from what had just happened to him. So definitely, the upcoming episode of S.W.A.T. Season 2 will be an installment that is close to the mass' heart.
This is only fitting though since it is already the finale of the current season. And having a plot that is both chaotic and dramatic, it is just a suitable blend of theme and setting to properly setup the succeeding plots and events for a new season.
Just recently, the network, CBS, has already announced that S.W.A.T. is renewed for a new season. And based on the hints that they are giving, it appears that S.W.A.T. Season 3 might arrive in between 2019 and 2020.
But since S.W.A.T. Season 2 finale is set to air on May 16, it is very likely that the new season will arive early next year.
Along with S.W.A.T., other CBS shows are also renewed. And these include, SEAL Team for Season 2, Madam Secretary for Season 6, MacGyver and Bull for Season 4, and Hawaii Five-0 for Season 10. Other shows like 48 Hours and 60 Minutes are also set to arrive on the network between 2019 and 2020.
