Meghan Markle could not make it to her high school class' 20th-year reunion. Instead, she wrote a letter sealed in a Kensington Palace envelope to address why she would not be able to be there.
According to the Daily Mail, the Duchess of Sussex's high school reunion was set on the first week of May, which explained why she couldn't go on a flight for a quick visit to her hometown. Markle reportedly gave birth the day following the high school reunion.
The letter she wrote her class at the Immaculate Heart High School was read out loud during the party. There were about 50 alumni in attendance.
"They were so excited to get that letter from her," one of the Duchess' former classmates said. "She is remembered as someone who is very thoughtful, and to get that kind of attention now that she is a Royal went down really well."
Her schoolmates, however, were overjoyed for the birth of Markle's first child. The school's Facebook page also acknowledged the arrival of Baby Sussex Archie Harrison with a congratulatory post dedicated to their most famous alumnus and her husband, Prince Harry.
Teachers and students alike have fond memories of the Duchess of Sussex as a student of the all-girls school. One teacher described her as a student who was nice, dedicated and got good grades, as per Insider.
Meanwhile, Elle reported that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had visited baby Archie in his parent's new home at Frogmore Cottage. Prince Harry, who still kept with his royal travels and duties, was at home to welcome his brother Prince William and sister-in-law Princess Catherine.
The royal kids and Archie's cousins, however, were not with William and Kate during their visit. A royal reporter confirmed that it might be a while before Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte get to see Master Archie.
A week after the birth of Baby Sussex, Prince William said that he's very pleased for his brother. He also jokingly welcomed Prince Harry to the "sleep deprivation society" of parenting. Kate, on the other hand, expressed her eagerness for the children to meet their cousin. She also said that she's glad Archie was born so close to Charlotte and Louis' birthdays so there will be tons of family celebrations to look forward to in the years to come.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's first child is the seventh in line to the British throne. However, Prince Harry and Markle will raise Archie as a private citizen.
