Xiaomi's Redmi sub-brand has officially launched their newest flagship, the K20 and K20 Pro. These "flagship killers" have all the features of a powerful smartphone without the hefty price.
Aside from launching its newest smartphones, the company also announced a budget notebook for those looking for a powerful laptop at a decent price. Called the RedmiBook 14, this all new notebook comes with features of a modern laptop paired with an incredibly low price as well.
The RedmiBook 14 is the first Redmi-branded laptop by Xiaomi. It comes with a 14-inch display panel and is powered by up to eight-gen Intel Core i7 processor with an Nvidia GeForce MX250 graphics card.
Xiaomi will start its pre-bookings for the brand-new laptop in China beginning June 1, although its official sale will start June 11. Its global availability, however, is yet to be announced along with price details.
The Chinese company has already launched several notebooks in the past under the Xiaomi name. The Mi Notebook Pro in particular actually looks quite similar and bags the same hardware as the MacBook Pro but for half the price.
The Redmi sub-brand, however, is all about the budget segment, and the RedmiBook 14 starts off at just CNY 3,999 ($580). For that price, you get a notebook with eighth-gen Intel Core i5 CPU, 256GB SSD, and 4GB of RAM. You can also configure the notebook with a Core i7 CPU, 512GB SSD, and 8GB of RAM, with that particular option costing CNY 4,299 ($725).
The RedmiBook 14 has a standard, full-size keyboard with a travel distance of 1.3mm and 19mm wide keys. A multitouch gesture-supporting touchpad is also included. According to Xiaomi, the notebook is able to deliver up to 10 hours of battery life on a single charge.
The RedmiBook 14 is Windows 10-based and has an Intelligent Unlock 2.0 feature, which the company claims takes 1.2 seconds to unlock from the standby mode. It also comes with a preloaded Microsoft Office Home and Student Edition. It is 17.95mm thick and weighs 1.5 kg, and comes with a DTS audio integration.

The RedmiBook 14 has some excellent features for Redmi's debut laptop. Xiaomi's notebooks have been exclusive to China, but the goal of the sub-brand is to go for international markets. So, it's safe to expect the RedmiBook 14 to go on sale on other global markets. More details about the new notebook will be revealed by the company soon.
