Pokémon Company announced its new game, Pokémon Sleep at its press conference held in Tokyo today. The game will allow users to train pokemon while they sleep and will be accompanied by a device called Pokémon Go Plus that will measure the way you sleep and reward you base from it.
Pokémon Sleep is a new game that will use the patterns and time of sleep of the players to advance in the game. With it, the company hopes to promote healthy habits as to fulfill a good rest. The rewards you earn in Pokémon Sleep will be applied to your Pokémon Go, the augmented reality game that premiered in 2017 and Pokémon Let's Go.
After announcing Pokemon Sleep, Kazuhiro Maruyama, director of the device development area of Nintendo, presented the accessory that will be integrated with Pokémon Sleep, which is like the devices used for Pokémon GO and Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee!. This device is called Pokémon GO Plus +
This device will be responsible for monitoring the sleep and controlling the patterns of it. It can be used as a normal Pokémon Go during the day and at night will connect to your phone via Bluetooth to send your dream data and reward you based on them.
This means that you can be training your Pokémon while you sleep, although at the moment there are no details about what the rewards will be as well as how can your sleep data be measured.
Announcement 3⃣ What if you could continue training your Pokémon...even in your sleep? In 2016, Pokémon GO turned the simple act of walking into entertainment, making the entire world into a game. We’re about to do it again, Trainers—this time, for sleeping. — Pokémon (@Pokemon) May 29, 2019
In addition to this new game, Pokémon Company also announced Pokémon Home, a cloud storage service where you can collect all the Pokémon you have acquired in Pokémon Go and Pokémon Let's Go and exchange them with other users through your mobile devices.
The company did not say when Pokémon Home will be available or what its cost will be, although it is possible that it will arrive in early 2020 as the rest of the products announced during the conference.
To commemorate the event and to increase the product anticipation hype, Snorlax will be caught sleeping in Pokémon GO starting today and will run until June 3, 2019. Users can capture the rate Snorlax, and once caught, it will "wake up" and can be used in battles and defenses of your Gymnasiums normally.
A special difference is that the sleeping Snorlax captured during the event will know a single movement, the exclusive attack Yawn. That is, even though the player already has a Snorlax in his Pokemon database, the sleeping Snorlax will be differentiated.
