The Village just recently concluded and fans are now wondering if the series would further continue or not. But, right now, the future of The Village season 2 remains uncertain as NBC hasn't yet announced if it was renewed or canceled.

The renewal of The Village for a second season is still up in the air, and its fate is somehow unpredicted due to the ratings. The show's numbers aren't high, but the program has been steady on its place throughout the season. The series also has its fan base, yet that doesn't usually factor when the network makes the decision in dropping or picking it up for another installment.

If NBC would only consider the ratings in renewing or canceling the show, then fans shouldn't expect The Village season 2 would happen. As per reports, the series has averaged a 0.66 in the 18-49 target demographic and has a total of 4.1 million viewers.

Even though the series' numbers remain steady and proved it has loyal audiences, the network has canceled shows from the past with better ratings. For instance, NBC canceled Rise starring Auli'i Cravalho and Josh Radnor despite its 0.83 average rating and 4.418 million viewers.

But, it's also worth noting that other freshman shows of the network were renewed and had much stronger ratings. New Amsterdam, in particular, was renewed for season 2 as it boasted a 1.06 average in the ratings and a total of 5.92 million viewers. Manifest season 2 was also given a green light by NBC, with an average of 1.25 in the ratings and 6.48 million viewers each episode.

The Village is created by Mike Daniels, while the cast includes Dominic Chianese, Lorraine Toussaint, Daren Kagasoff, Warren Christie, Grace Van Dien, Jerod Haynes, Frankie Faison, Michaela McManus, and Moran Atias. The show was first aired on NBC on March 19, 2019.

The Village tells the story of the residents of an apartment building in Brooklyn, and they have "built a bonded family of friends and neighbors." The main characters include Sarah (McManus), a nurse who's living with her daughter, Katie (Van Dien); Gabe (Kagasoff ) is a law student who helps his grandfather Enzo (Chianese).

Meanwhile, Ava (Atias ) is an Iranian immigrant, but has a US-born son and has problems with ICE; Nick (Christie) is a veteran, and he's being hunted by the past, and also the father of Katie; lastly, Ron (Faison) and Patricia (Toussaint ) are considered to be the "heart and soul of the building."
