It looks like fans are not the only ones who have complained about how Game of Thrones Season 8 ended. Lena Headey, who played one of the major roles Cersei Lannister, finally spoke about her character's death, and why she wanted a word with showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

The show concluded with too many deaths after a battle against the White Walkers and when Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) put the whole King's Landing to a flame that turned into a mass massacre. One of the carnage's victims was Cersei, who died along with her brother-lover Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) after he tried to save her by escaping the ordeal through the Red Keep.

However, fans expected Cersei's death to be more meaningful that would involve a much intense scene and not by anticlimactic collapsed of the building. Their death might be sad and touching, but many fans didn't like how HBO sent off two of the most complex and beloved characters in Game of Thrones Season 8.

Headey herself didn't even like how Cersei died either. In an interview with The Guardian, the 45-year-old actress admitted she has her "own gripes" on how the show wrapped up. The English actress revealed she was also a viewer, invested her time watching the show, and had her favorite characters, so she had a few complaints about what happened.

However, she has yet to spill her sentiments to the showrunners as she has not had the chance to sit down "drunkly" with Benioff and Weiss. If that happens, what will Headey tell the two?

"I will say I wanted a better death," she said. "Obviously you dream of your death. You could go in any way on that show. So I was kind of gutted."

However, despite her complains, Headey understands they cannot please everyone. She went on to explain that no matter what they would do on Game of Thrones Season 8, there would always be "some big comedown from the climb."

It is not the first time that Headey talked about her disappointments toward the show. To recall, she only had brief scenes in Game of Thrones Season 8 in general. She was only seen plotting her final battle with Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbæk) or Qyburn (Anton Lesser).

In a different interview with Entertainment Weekly, Headey said she wanted Cersei to have a "big piece or fight with somebody," rather than die helplessly in the rubbles. However, everything changed when Coster-Waldau reminded her of the poetry about their death in one another's arms.

Headey explained that as a twin, Cersei and Jaime were born together and also died with one another. Game of Thrones Season 8 finale might be the first time that Cersei found and had been at peace.
