A number of rumors have claimed that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will have the same variable aperture camera feature. This is the same feature that was first introduced on the Galaxy S9 series, and subsequently with the S10 series.

The variable aperture feature allows a camera to detect and control the amount of light that enters the lens. When Samsung first introduced this feature, it only has a two-stage variable aperture mode. With the Galaxy Note 10, the Korean tech giant managed to bump it up to three stages. This allowed Galaxy S10 series handsets to be able to set their aperture value to as much as F/1.5.

Although Samsung has yet to confirm whether the Note 10 will have the same feature is still to be known. Nevertheless, there is a handful of rumor surrounding the handset claiming that it will have a slightly different configuration.

The rumor came from a prominent tech tipster known as Ice Universe. The tipster said that some Chinese engineers working on the Galaxy Note 10 have said that the Galaxy Note 10 will have a three-stage variable aperture. It is still not known whether this feature will find its way into some less expensive iterations of the Note 10. Nevertheless, tech insiders agree that if Samsung was able to incorporate the feature into the Galaxy S10e model, the company should be able to do the same with a less expensive version of its flagship tablet.

According to Ice Universe, the widest aperture of the Note 10 will be pegged at F/1.5, its second stage will be at F/1.8, and lastly F/2.4. Tech aficionados are expecting to get a better imaging performance once it reaches the second stage, provided that a photo is taken under balanced lighting condition.

The first stage is expected to be effective in taking photos in dimly lit environments. The third stage is for taking photos on brightly lit environments.

The tech community is expecting Samsung to incorporate this feature into some of its less expensive models. While the feature has been a constant addition to its flagship series, the same feature has yet to find its way to the models that belong to the mid and lower price points.

Samsung has been busy making upgrades on the design, specs, and features of its less expensive smartphone models. Needless to say, it will come as no surprise if the tech giant decides to add this three-stage variable aperture camera setting as well.
