"The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening" is nearing its release date and more details about the remake recently surfaced online. The most recent is the leaked footage showing the classic Gameboy entry of the game taken during the E3 2019 event. The other report indicates that the upcoming remake could pave the way for a full-blown Zelda Maker game.
Zelda Maker
When "The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening" arrives, it will feature a dungeon making mode called Chamber Dungeons. Series producer Eiji Aonuma, if the game becomes popular enough, it could lead to the arrival of the Zeldar Maker game. The upcoming remake was first revealed in an unexpected announcement at the Nintendo Direct's February event.
But, the Chamber Dungeons came as another surprise when it was launched at this year's E3 event. The classic "The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening" was first released in 1993 for the gaming platform Game Boy. It was the very first Legend of Zelda title ever to be released in a handheld console.
The series producer hinted the possibility of seeing "Zelda Maker" during his interview with Jason Schreier of Kotaku last E3 2019. Schreier directly asked the producer is Zelda Maker was in the cards. Aonuma answered that he could not say anything about the future, but if the gamers love arranging dungeons, he said that he would keep it in mind.
Although the producer's answer does not sound very exciting and should not be taken as a form of confirmation, it surely hinted on something. In some of his statements during the interview, it was clear that the Chamber Dungeons was not placed in "The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening" as an in-game bonus but for a purpose.
New Gameplay Footage
Earlier today, the new gameplay footage of "The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening" surfaced online. The latest footage was shared by GameXplain on his YouTube channel which was taken during the game's demo at the E3 2019 event. It features some brand new music and a cameo of Ocarina of Time.
"The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening" is anticipated to be more than just a simple remake. The game will showcase brand new features that were not present in the original version. This includes the Chamber Dungeon that will enable players to make their dungeons. "The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening" is slated to arrive exclusively on the Nintendo Switch on September 20.
