Prince Charles, reportedly, wants his wife Camilla to be called Queen when he reigns next as King of England.

As a member of the Royal family and, maybe more so being the next in line to the throne, Prince Charles' life is often subjected to public scrutiny, opinion, and sometimes unwanted attention. It was recently written about that it is expected the United Kingdom's next reigning monarch may put his foot down and have his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, be called by her rightful title of "Queen."

Commentator Victoria Arbiter who is an expert on matters regarding the royals is positive that Prince Charles will take this course of action. As it stands at present, Camilla is officially the Duchess of Cornwall, but shall be referred to as the Princess Consort in the event that Prince Charles is seated on the throne.

The royal commentator explained that, although it had been "announced" that Prince Charles' wife would be called by her official title as Duchess, Camilla would later on be referred to as the Princess Consort once the Duke of Cornwall sits on the throne---and this out of respect for the late Princess Diana.

But Arbiter expects that the Prince would not be willing to settle for that. She believes that when the time comes, he will be insisting that his wife be called by her then-proper, "rightful" title, which is Queen Consort.

She went on to remark that the Prince of Wales would be insistent on this because "anything less" and it would be like he were to "admit fault." Besides, according to Arbiter, after all this time, it would seem to her as "unnecessarily cautious" for the Duchess to be "Queen Consort" in every sense of the word, except by official "name."

Whether this will be so remains to be seen, as this can only happen when the Prince has actually ascended to the throne. In the meantime, Queen Elizabeth II is set to reach her Platinum Jubilee in three years. She will then have been queen for seventy years. Her son has been the longest heir apparent to the throne in history.

As per Arbiter, the Royal Family is said to be keenly "aware" of the public feeling regarding the Prince who has not exactly been a favorite. But the expert on royals believes that "the tide" has seemed to be "finally" now turning regarding the way that people are coming to view Camilla.

The Duchess herself can take credit for this change after she has worked tirelessly at many causes including that of children and literacy, animal welfare, those living in poverty and the homeless, sexual abuse survivors, and other societal concerns.

It is thought that, when the time came, Camilla would turn out to be a considerably "valuable support system" to the Prince, her husband, when he finally receives his birthright, the crown.
