Kia has once again struck gold with its redesigned Sorento SUV. The car was recently spotted doing test drives, and its new look is javascript:;absolutely stunning. Kia has been busy with the redesign effort for the mid-sized Sorento, and from the looks of it, the company may have another winner in the highly competitive crossover niche of the market.

The redesign of the new Sorento came in a time when Kia is still fresh from the unveiling of the Seltos, the company's equally stylish SUV. The prototype of what is believe to be the redesigned Sorento have been spotted several times doing cruise tests just outside of the Nurburgring. It is true that the prototype is covered in camouflage, but significant changes on the car's design can be perceived quite easily. From the looks of it, the new Sorento will sport thinner headlights. It also has a wider grille.

As for its rear end, it is still early to call as the car still has its taillights uninstalled. Nevertheless, the car appears to have a new design for its lower fascia and liftgate. If the prototype is near its completion, the new Sorento will probably ditch the horizontal design of its taillights and instead opt for a more squared design approach.

The internal of the car cannot be seen due to tinted windows. Nevertheless, it is expected that Kia will put in premium materials for its cabin, as well as a larger central touchscreen. On the other hand, it still unknown whether Kia will offer a three-row option for the new Sorento.

As for its engine, the redesigned Kia Sorento is expected to ditch the current model's 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that is capable of outputting 184-horsepower. Moreover, the 2.3-liter V6 variant might be in the chopping block as well. Sources within the company have pointed to a more powerful 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. A turbocharged variant might be available as well.

Rumors about a possible hybrid and plug-in variants are also getting a lot of attention. These two particular variants have been received quite well by many car buyers due to their extended mileage and cost. Moreover, it is also a great option for the environment.

As for its availability, the community is expecting the redesigned Kia Sorento to debut later this year. However, the SUV will not be available for purchase up until next year and will bear the 2021 model year.
