Microsoft has just released the ISO files of Windows 10 20H1 build 18932, which is the development phase of what will be the Version 2003 that is anticipated for official release in the spring of 2020. The OS when ready will be delivered as the May 2020 Update, but Windows Insider participants can now get in advance.
Build 18932 can also be used to clean install on a PC and when it is up and running, testers will be able to take for a spin the features laid out in this change log, courtesy of MSPowerUser. Among the enhancements packed with the beta OS are the tweaked Eye Control and a streamlined Notification Settings for better granular control that needless to say will only get official treatment once the version has achieved Final Cut status.
Be warned though that the release, being part of Microsoft's Windows Insider program, will surely include a number of bugs, which according to Windows Central will be the bases for the improvements that will be applied in the builds to precede the rollout of the official version.
As in previous ISO releases of Windows 10, Microsoft made the files available in three options, namely Insider Preview, Insider Preview Enterprise, and Insider Preview China Home. Those already registered as Insider users can directly download any of the files from the Windows Insider side while those willing to try will have to enroll first on the program.
According to WCCFTech, registration for Windows Insider can be found on this link and testers need to ensure first that their system can handle the upcoming Windows 10 version. For that purpose, it's best to check on the specific hardware requirements as provided by Microsoft.
Windows 10 Version 2003 will be preceded by Version 1908, earlier known as the Fall Feature Upgrade that will be pushed out as the October 2019 Update. However, the manner of 1908's arrival is unlikely to replicate the previous update deliveries made by Microsoft.
In pursuit of a smoother and more stable OS update process, the Windows maker has earlier indicated that it intends to revise how the October 2019 Update will be received by PCs. Instead of seeding the update in a single major push, it will be smaller and installment packs.
Microsoft said Version 1909, codenamed 19H2, will arrive like the monthly Cumulative Updates. In the initial deliveries, the feature upgrades will be included, but they are deactivated by default and will only get activated in succeeding deployment of patches.
In essence, Windows 10 Version 1909 will be packaged as the Service Packs that will deliver improvements on systems upgrading from Version 1903, according to Windows Central. And it appears that this will be the mode of delivery for Windows 10 feature upgrades moving forward.
