Emily Andrews, a royal correspondent from The Sun, reported that Prince Andrew wrote a letter to the Queen demanding that his daughters, Princess Beatrice, and Princess Eugenie, are granted funds from the Sovereign Grant. The Prince fought for royal funding for her daughters when it was denied because of his fear that they would be overshadowed and sidelined.
According to reports, Queen Elizabeth denied the request leaving Prince Andrew's daughter without any funding after they came of age in 2012. A source close to the royals said that the prince feared about his daughter's future, the insider said that Prince Andrew believes William, Kate, and Harry are overshadowing his daughters, and it will get worse as Prince George and Princess Charlotte get older. The source added that the prince fears that his daughters will be sidelined when the Queen dies. Sources also said that the Prince always wanted his daughters to be full-time royals and he sees it as a slight on him and them if they are not.
Sources also said that Charles calls the shots and he wants the Royal Family to give value for money. Robert Jobson, a royal expert, said that Prince Andrew made a huge effort to keep his daughters close to the Queen.
Mr. Jobson told American journalist Edward Klein that when Charles ascends the throne, which he will do despite all the talk to the contrary, he'd like the Royal Family to be streamlined and he wants a smaller, more cost-effective monarchy. He also said that the Prince had made a tremendous effort to keep Beatrice and Eugenie close to the Queen to assure their future as fully paid-up members of the royal family. He also said that in addition to their status as royal highnesses, Andrew has always wanted them to have around-the-clock security and the rank of working royals. The royal expert claimed that if Charles has his way, the girls will be thrown off the royal payroll and have to fend for themselves.
The prediction of the expert became real in 2012 when they stopped providing funds for the two girls from the Sovereign Grant. The royal expert said that the appointment of Prince Andrew as trade envoy in 2001 angered Charles. He said that Prince Charles was less than happy that Andrew was given the role of Trade Envoy back in 2001 after he left the Navy.
