Did you know that in the US alone, an estimate of about 254 million tons of trash was generated in 2013? Unfortunately, these digits are still rising even at present despite its negative effect towards the environment, according to E Cube Labs.
If you don't want to be one of the reasons why our environment is dying at present, better to learn how to manage your scraps, in a video uploaded on YouTube by Blossom, there are several tips you can consider to help you recycle your food and manage your trash well.
APPLE CORES TO APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
No matter how sweet apples can be, the core, which contains the seeds, is usually not consumed. Though often ends up in the trash, this center-part of the apple can be recycled. You can either include it in your compost or create something cool out of it, like an apple cider vinegar.
To create an apple cider vinegar out of your apple cores, first, you have to put about four pieces of it inside a container and mix it with about ¼ cup sugar and 200mL of water. Mix everything well and ferment it for two weeks. You can use your product for cleaning, washing hair, keeping your skin healthy, and also for cooking your favorite dishes and salads.
ORANGE PEELINGS TO CANDIED ORANGES
We often throw away orange peelings without knowing this could still be made into a new product-candied orange. If you want to make one for yourselves, start by boiling your peels for about 10 minutes in a mixture of water and about 2 cups of sugar. Once it comes to boil, remove the peelings from the water, put it in a container, and mix it with sugar.
AVOCADO SEEDS TO NATURAL SHAMPOO
There are two ways to reuse an avocado seed. Either you plant it or create an amazing shampoo with it. To make a shampoo, you have to shred the seeds first. After doing so, let it boil for a couple of minutes and add the castile soap. Once the temperature has cooled down, secure the final product in a container. Using this shampoo in your hair can effectively add moisture and shine, especially if you are experiencing dry hair.
Our world is already suffering so much because of factors such as garbage. As a part of the environment, we have the responsibility to take care of it no matter what happens. Following these steps might seem simple, but the positive effects will surely reflect in the future.
