The comedy series A.P. Bio, which stars Glenn Howerton (as Jack Griffin), was a goner last May when NBC announced that it would not renew the show for season 3. However, the network took back its original decision this week, as A.P Bio season 3 has been un-canceled and will be returning via NBC Universal's upcoming streaming platform.

A.P. Bio creator Mike O'Brien confirmed the good news in a press release, per Deadline. He said that he's overwhelmed with the support from the fans and he's excited to work with the streaming service.

Howerton also posted his gratitude on social media, where he hinted that A.P. Bio was popular with the streaming audience. The actor also congratulated O'Brien for the show's success.

A.P. Bio follows a disgraced Harvard professor who ends up teaching high school kids as a substitute for the subject, A.P. Bio, at his hometown in Ohio. While Jack isn't committed to his work, he makes great efforts to find ways to exact his revenge on a rival professor that cost him his Harvard job.

Jack uses the high school kids to carry out his plans against his nemesis in A.P. Bio season 1. However, much of this narrative has changed in the second season as the show became a brilliant and better comedy. Some critics even compared A.P. Bio to the comedy, wit, and smartness of Community.

While the weekly viewership didn't pick up, the series' video on demand numbers was quite substantial. Thus, putting the show on a streaming platform would be a great idea.

Aside from Howerton, A.P. Bio also stars comedian Patton Oswalt. The cast list consists of young actors like Allisyn Ashley Arm, Aparna Brielle, Miguel Chavez, Jacob McCarthy, Spence Moore, Tucker Albrizzi, Jacob Houston and Eddie Leavey.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC Universal will be cutting new deals for the cast since they were released from their contracts last June. Many of them were bummed that NBC first decided to cancel the show.

Meanwhile, there isn't much to report about NBC Universal's new streaming service just yet except that it will launch in 2020. The platform is expected to be ad-supported though so it won't be exactly like the Netflix model.

Also set for release in this new streaming service is the series Angelyne, which will star Shameless actress Emmy Rossum. The drama, created by her husband and Mr. Robot showrunner Sam Esmail, is based on a true story of a billboard diva in Los Angeles.
