It has only been three months since the Duchess of Sussex gave birth to her first son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, but she and Prince Harry are already thinking of adding another baby into the equation.
The Sussex family might soon have a new addition to their little family but not in a way the rest of the royal family has expected or approved. According to some inside sources, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are looking to adopt a child.
The couple's honeymoon trip to Botswana, as well as their being named the Commonwealth Ambassadors of Africa, spiked their interest in considering adopting an orphaned African baby.
The couple had been to a few orphanages on their trip to Africa. And the sources said to be close to the couple have revealed that the pair were humbled and deeply moved by what they had witnessed in those homes for countless orphaned African children. They supposedly promised to go back soon and give one of the orphans a more permanent home.
The same sources also claim that adopting an African child would serve as a sort of tribute by Prince Harry to his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales. Back in her day, one of Princess Diana's most important missions was to improve the state of the lives of the children in Angola. However, she had never considered adopting any of the orphans.
On the other hand, it is believed the probable adoption could be a form of tribute to Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, who is of African-American descent. However, it is maintained, there is no cause for celebration just yet since this is just a possibility that the Duke and Duchess are talking about and mulling over.
If they do decide to adopt a child, it will be the first case in centuries of an adopted member of the royal family.
If the Duke and Duchess of Sussex do push through with the adoption, it would not be the first time they would be going against tradition and doing something Queen Elizabeth II could disapprove of and be less than happy about.
The pair has already broken tradition by moving out of the castle and living in a separate household from the rest of the royal family members. If their next move involves another breach of the old ways, it is said that it may cause more tension between Prince Harry and the Queen.
And if the Queen meets the probable adoption with the opposition, Prince William and his family, it is believed, may side with her. Some quarters think that could mar the bond the two brothers share.
But the source assuredly states nothing is set in stone, and the matter is not final. For now, the Duke and Duchess are merely showing an interest in doing so.
