It is still unclear just what will happen in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker but the final scene of the highly anticipated film may have just been revealed. Kevin Smith, the director of Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, has just admitted that he got to visit the set of Star Wars Episode 9 while the last scene of the movie was being filmed. Interestingly, Smith confirmed that the final sequence will "melt your mind."

Kevin Smith recently sat down with IGN to talk about his new movie but the Clerks director also shared that he was once invited by Star Wars Episode 9 director J.J. Abrams to visit the set. According to Smith, the crew members kept insisting that he should watch a certain sequence being filmed but was dissuaded by Abrams himself. When he asked what was happening in the said scene, Abrams revealed that "it's the last shot of the movie."

Smith claimed that he insisted on wanting to see the sequence but Abrams reportedly told him, "You don't want this spoiled. You wanna be in a theater when this happens, trust me." In addition to that, some crew members admitted that they wished they hadn't seen the final scene.

"Other people on the crew were like, 'Bro, I wish I hadn't seen it. I'm glad I did, but it will melt your mind,'" Smith said.

So what could happen in the final shot of The Rise of Skywalker? There are several speculations on what the last scene will be about. However, some strongly believe that it might have something to do with several characters being brought back for one amazing shot.

There are speculations that the Star Wars Episode 9 trailer already hinted at what the last shot will be like in Luke Skywalker's line, "A thousand generations live in you now," which is presumably said to Rey. "We'll always be with you," Luke continues later on in the teaser, "No one's ever really gone." Could all these lines possibly come from the final shot as all the Jedi Force ghosts including Anakin Skywalker gather to support Rey?

It's almost certain that Luke Skywalker will appear as a Force ghost. However, it's possible that he will be seen with other deceased Jedi like Anakin Skywalker, Yoda, and Obi-Wan Kenobi. A thousand different Force ghosts in one shot would certainly qualify for being mind-melting. On the other hand, this is all based on theory so it's best to take it with a grain of salt.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres on December 20.
