Everyone who has seen Anna Wintour's recent interview will know that there is about zero chances for Melania Trump to ever appear on Vogue's cover or have a lifestyle piece written about her at the least. Not for as long as Wintour is Editor-in-Chief of the magazine and holds the reins to what the content is to be released in each of the publications' issues.

The 69-year-old fashion icon and journalist recently appeared on an episode of the podcast, The Economist Asks, for an interview. Wintour was asked for her opinion about Melania Trump, the current First Lady, and her fashion sense.

Wintour's reply was said to have a subtle hint of shade to it, as she had completely dodged the question and instead began to praise the previous First Lady, Michelle Obama.

The conversation was apparently steered towards Melania when Wintour and the podcast's host, Anne McElvoy, began talking about Melania and Donald Trump's most recent state visit to the United Kingdom in June this year.

Wintour pointed out her observations about how Melania had purposely and consciously chose to wear fashion pieces from various British brands for the duration of their visit. The host then further asked Wintour about what she thought of the current First Lady's fashion choices.

By then, the conversation made a turn for the subtly shady. Wintour did not even stop to think about the question or ponder on her opinion of Melania. She straight out ignored the query from McElvoy and went on to shower Michelle with praise for her fashion choices back when she was the First Lady.

Wintour elaborated on why she thought Michelle was the First Lady with the best fashion choices, saying she was so incredible in the decisions she made in fashion, even down to the smallest of details. Wintour praised her for supporting young and on-the-rise American designers as much as she did with designers from all over the world who deserved such recognition.

She also asserted that Michelle was the best ambassador that the United States had ever had, and added that her influence went beyond fashion.

McElvoy then skillfully steered the topic back to Melania, telling Wintour that Michelle was indeed remarkable but is not the First Lady anymore. The host pressed her further for her opinion about the current First Lady's fashion choices and had tried hard to keep the topic on Melania.

However, Wintour did not give a single comment on her, and instead of talking about Melania's fashion choices as a First Lady, she dismissively told the host that she believed Michelle was the true example of a First Lady, and one that Wintour greatly admired.

The icy treatment from the Vogue editor-in-chief does not come as a surprise, as some may recall a previous interview she had with a CNN reporter where she had elaborated on how they profile the women they feature in their magazine.

Some of Wintour's answers had allegedly rubbed Melania the wrong way as she was previously denied the privilege to be the face of a Vogue issue.
