Former England international player Frank Lampard recently said that he is ready to give Reece James a shot to prove himself whether he is worthy of wearing the Chelsea kit. Lampard added that he prefers James over his fellow up-and-coming young star c.

James has been riding the hype train for quite some time now, and the 19-year-old star has the ability and skills to back it up. He is highly rated by many football analysts, and he is poised to be one of the future stars of the English football scene. James has an impressive performance while on load that he won the Wigan Athletic Player of the Year award. He also had a brief stint with Crystal Palace and gave an equally impressive performance.

It is important to note here that James is still working on the rehabilitating his injury which he sustained while playing for England's under-20 club at the Toulon Tournament. He sustained an ankle injury and is still recovering from it. Whether he will start for Chelsea, this season remains to be seen, and his recovery will play a major factor on that decision.

Should Lampard decide to add James into the senior squad, the rising star will be able to join his fellow academy graduates Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham. Chelsea was not able to make any acquisition this summer since the club is still banned from doing so.

Due to the fact that Liverpool is still banned from acquiring new talents, Lampard has relied heavily on his younger players. His decision to do so is making showing some signs of fruition as he is able to discover young and talented players at his disposal. Among them is James' classmate at the academy, Mason Mount.

Mount made a significant impact during Derby in the Championship last season. From the looks of things, and considering Chelsea's current lineup, it would appear that Mount is already set to don the Chelsea kit this next season.

Another up-and-coming star in Lampard's roster of young players is Fikayo Tomori who made some impressive showings at Pride Park last season. Although Lampard has no intention of starting Tomori Chelsea next season, there are a number of clubs that have shown interests into acquiring the youngster's talents. This means that Lampard might put Tomori into the loan block and have the youngster hone his talent in a different club before waiting for his chance to start for Chelsea finally.
