The First Lady has recently revealed that she will be hosting a big event for a nation that had been previously disregarded by the preceding administration. Melania Trump is apparently having the glory of hosting a major event for the one country Michelle Obama had overlooked during her time as first lady.

Melania, alongside her husband Donald Trump, the President of the United States, have confirmed that they will be hosting some important persons from Australia this coming September. The Prime Minister and Mrs. Morrison will reportedly be received with open arms at the White House, despite being given the cold shoulder from the previous administration under the Obamas.

Mr. Scott Morrison and his wife, Jennifer, will be enjoying a stay at the White House while discussing diplomatic matters with the President. On the other hand, they will be looking forward to what is expected to be a classy and fashionable state dinner planned by the First Lady.

This is reportedly only the second state dinner Melania has organized and coordinated ever since her husband was elected into office. For back in 2018, she had hosted the esteemed French President Emmanuel Macron and his lovely wife for a state dinner that was said to be perfectly catered to their Parisian tastes

But if one were to check the records, Michelle had already hosted around twice as much more dinners by this time in her regime as first lady. She had hosted a total of thirteen state dinners in her time at the White House. However, Australia had been surprisingly not been one of those thirteen nations to have been received by the former first lady in Washington.

Melania's predecessor usually overshadows her in a lot of areas in being a First Lady. One is in the number of state dinners she had hosted during her husband's presidential term that lasted from 2009-2017.

In those eight years, Mrs. Obama had managed to host a lot of influential and major leaders from countries such as India, Mexico, Germany, China, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Canada, Japan, France, Singapore, Italy, and even some of the state leaders from Scandinavia.

Leaders from Australia have not been invited to any state dinners since 2006, under the presidency of George W. Bush. Back in the last state dinner they had in Washington, John Howard had been the Australian guest of honor at the time, who reportedly only had words of praise for how well their trip in the States turned out.

Although Melania is constantly pitted against Michelle and is dwarfed in terms of achievements and political beliefs, the current First Lady can hold the fact she is hosting an Obama-overlooked country over all those trying to bring her down.

She and President Trump will be receiving their honored guests to the White house in September 20, 2019. It will be counted as a first official state visit in thirteen years and is expected to include a state dinner as well.

The White House announced the upcoming event as a celebration of America's and Australia's "closed friendship" as well as "shared history" and an opportunity to strengthen the two countries' "common vision" in ensuring "global peace" and "prosperity."
