It's been over two months already ever since The Blacklist Season 6 concluded. But after what happened on the finale, the fans couldn't wait any longer. Even so, patience will still be needed as the new season is set to arrive this spring season, as per usual.
According to recent reports, filming and production are already ongoing. And this is just fitting given the timeline of the show. In fact, the series actors are very much open to the media in sharing updates about the show's movements.
Just earlier this week, some of the cast members have posted a "return photo" on their respective social media accounts. And as per Cinema Blend, a familiar face is missing on the picture.
The fandom thought that Mozhan Marnò is the one that the headlines are talking about. However, this is already common knowledge as her exit last season is largely tackled already. So there is one main actor from the remaining cast who is apparently missing the picture. And as it happens, the headlines are actually addressing James Spader's absence.
This caused a few discussions among the fans of The Blacklist. But even so, it has been revealed later that Reddington's absence is just suitable considering that he was abducted during the last few moments of the previous season.
Quite amusingly though, these resulted for the fans to theorize and speculate much rather exciting twists and turn out of events for the new season of the show. And the truth is - all of these theories are quite possible.
According to TV Guide, the finale of The Blacklist Season 6 has set up a strong course for the new season. In fact, the ratings and numbers alone can already provide enough reason for this statement.
As any fan would recall, Raymond Reddington was abducted by Katarina Rostova, Liz's mother. And for whatever reason that she has, it is still unknown. But this became a very interesting introduction to what will happen in the following episodes since it has been revealed that the two actually share a close tie with each other.
Also, the new season is expected to dig deeper to Reddington's real identity. And whoever he might truly be, this will surely be all worth it as per the critics.
The Blacklist Season 7 is set to premiere on October 4, on NBC.
