The popular Adult Swim show on Cartoon Network, Rick and Morty, is gearing up for its return for the fourth season with a few interesting personalities. For instance, an actor from Game of Thrones has joined and lent his voice in the upcoming release.
According to HN Entertainment, Liam Cunningham, who played Ser Davos on Game of Thrones, has signed on alongside Matthew Broderick. Earlier, Rick and Morty creator Justin Roiland announced on Entertainment Weekly that actors Paul Giamatti, Sam Neill, Kathleen Turner, and director Taika Waititi have also lent their voices to the cartoon series' fourth installment.
"Without giving anything away, we have serialized stuff we check in on now, and then that's sprinkled over the top of strong episodic episodes," Roiland said. "To fans of the show, they're going to want to watch them in order."
Rick and Morty season 4 is speculated for release this November but Adult Swim has yet to confirm if the leaked premiere date is true. The excitement around the show's return has been escalating since it's been nearly two years since the last season aired.
Co-creator Dan Harmon, however, promised the fans that the next seasons of Rick and Morty would have shorter breaks. They are working in filling up to 70 episodes following its renewal a few years back. They are already in the middle of writing the fifth season as they are polishing the upcoming release.
Harmon said that it had taken them quite longer to do the follow-up because they had a lot of things to settle before working on Rick and Morty season 4. Much of these involved the budget of the show so that they can deliver a story deserving for its growing fanbase.
Rick and Morty season 4 will have ten episodes. Based on the photos released to tease its return, the new season seems to be some parody from Gladiator, but the show remains a sci-fi action animated series very much.
There is still no long trailer for Rick and Morty season 4, but fans have been following the show's Twitter account for some clips and quick cuts that may or not be incorporated in the episodes. The creators also released a Fourth of July-themed teaser that had fans speculating that Rick and Morty season 4 would be out in July, but nothing concrete has come from Adult Swim.
Meanwhile, Harmon teased in an interview with Hollywood Life that Rick and Morty season 4 will introduce three new robots. The characters will also learn a valuable lesson this season, but the creators refuse to divulge any more details.
