The 100 season 6 finale is no doubt going to be a bloodbath. Set for airing on Tuesday, Aug. 6, the episode will turn Sanctum into a battleground where more characters could die.

According to the episode synopsis of The 100 season 6 finale, the anticipated major battle between the believers and non-believers will wrap up this mysterious season. But will this finally answer the anomaly of this new planet or bring up more questions?

Things have immensely changed in The 100 season 6 as minds and bodies can be possessed and taken over. When possessed, the consciousness of that person will essentially be diminished and die unless the character is strong enough to overcome this, as in the case of Clarke (played by Eliza Taylor).

The 100 season 6 has been brutal and unforgiving this year as several characters have been killed off in this rebooted and recalibrated installment. In the penultimate episode, which aired on Tuesday, July 31, viewers watched as Abby (played by Paige Turco) became the latest person to die.

Unfortunately, unlike Clarke who survived her possession, Abby is confirmed a goner by creator Jason Rothenberg. He wrote on Twitter that he would miss watching Turco on the set as she will no longer be back for The 100 season 7.

Meanwhile, Clarke nearly slipped and gave away the fact she's free of Josie's possession. She could not help but react when she saw Simone taking over Abby's body and mind in The 100 season 6 episode 12.

Though she has regained herself, Clarke is still unstable emotionally, and this can be both a good and bad thing from the group. With Clarke's current emotional state, she could be quite dangerous to the enemies but a threat to her people.

In a piece of related news, Netflix confirmed that The 100 season 6 would finally drop on the streaming platform this August. Specifically, binge-watchers can begin watching the latest season on Wednesday, Aug. 14, or roughly a week after the finale on the network broadcast, per Decider.

Production for The 100 season 7 will begin this summer. The show will likely follow a spring 2020 release, as it has been in the past seasons, but it's not yet clear if the upcoming installment will be its final run for the series.
