An entertainment news outlet reported that Vin Diesel quit the Fast & Furious Franchise because of an on-set accident leaving a stuntman in a coma.

Globe reported the accident involving Joe Watts, who suffered a head injury while filming the Fast & Furious 9. The stuntman suffered an injury after a safety cable snapped as he leaped off of a platform, causing him to fall more than 30 feet to the ground. He was placed in a medically-induced coma because of the incident.

The news outlet claimed that the incident caused Diesel to go right back to the very dark place he was when his co-star Paul Walker died in a car accident. A source told the news network that the way he sees it, Fast & Furious is cursed and he wants to shut the whole thing down before something terrible happens to anyone else. The tipster mentioned that the producers of the successful film franchise hope that Vin can come back to grips with the tragic event and get back to work, but they're worried he's walking away for good.

Gossip Cop debunked the story contended by the tabloid. The news outlet questioned the accuracy of the article. It argued that although production on Fast & Furious 9 was temporarily halted following the accident, the filming continued the next day. The news outlet said that Diesel is currently working on the movie and it is scheduled for release in May 2020. The actor will start with the shooting of Fast & Furious 10 after they have finalized the shooting of the sequel. The next movie is expected to be the final film on the franchise.

A reliable source close to the actor said that the narrative is untrue. The source said that the actor had been emotionally impacted by accident on the set but his not calling it quits for the Fast & Furious series.

Gossip Cop also debunked another allegation from Star, Globe's sister outlet, saying that Dwayne Johnson had dropped out of Fast & Furious 9 because Diesel was demanding to direct the film. It is not accurate since Justin Lin was already commissioned to direct the film before the article was released. Johnson starred in the movie spinoff Hobbs & Shaw with Jason Statham. The movie is out in the theaters this weekend. It simply showed that Globe failed to research deeply on the articles they released.
