SEAL Team season 3 is set to premiere this fall, and there's some great news about its casting as it was previously reported a Supernatural alum would return to the CBS' military drama series.

In a report via Deadline, it was revealed that Supernatural and The Mentalist alum Emily Swallow will return in SEAL Team season 3. She'll be playing the role of Dr. Natalie Pierce, a woman who's described as a research physiologist and her task is to increase the operational longevity of the Bravo Team.

Swallow's character will probably be one of the most important characters entering SEAL Team season 3, especially since the unit suffered from emotional and physical turmoil in the previous seasons. Pierce isn't also bothered with her environment full of alpha males, and she's devoted to keeping these men on the battlefield. But, what's exactly the Bravo Team has been dealing with?

Several characters are facing personal issues, such as Ray who's having a crisis of family and faith and Sonny nearly drowning. Clay is also recovering from a serious injury, while Jason decided to sell his house to make sure his daughter will get a great education. Perhaps, the most devastating thing that happened to the team is the death of Alana last fall.

Pierce is a physiologist rather than a psychologist, so it's uncertain how she could help these characters cope with the emotional issues they've been through. The brain is connected to every part of the body, and being in the right mind could impact a person's physical performance in the team.

Swallow's character will likely help the Bravo Team in by making sure all of them feel healthy while out on a mission - either training regimen or tools that could help them recover from some of their missions. If she could reduce that and keep them a little bit more stable in the long-term, then the military would possibly love to have her.

As for the filming news of the upcoming season, series star David Boreanaz previously shared via Instagram that he and other cast members were in Siberia to film scenes for the new installment. This is a big move as the series does not usually travel to other countries to film and feature a particular mission.

Meanwhile, SEAL Team season 3 will premiere on Wednesday, October 2, on CBS. Swallow, on the other hand, comes off of an appearance in Elementary this summer and she'll come back to Supernatural - reprising her role as Amara a.k.a. The Darkness before the series ends.
