With the electric vehicle market continues growing, a number of companies are also throwing their hat into this particular segment of the car market. Tesla has already announced its own electric pickup truck. The latest to join the fray is Fisker, an American car manufacturer which specializes in the production of luxury electric vehicles.

Fisker had already called it quits a couple of years ago. Nevertheless, the company persevered and is looking for a revival. The company has been teasing its upcoming sedan and SUV models for a couple of years already. However, the company has yet to release either of them officially. This lack of actual product has not deterred Fisker founder and chief executive officer Henrik Fisker one bit.

Recently, Fisker took to Twitter and shared what appears to be a CGI render of one of its vehicles. Fisker hinted that the company is working on an electric pickup truck. Based on the render, the pickup truck features the company's name and logo on its rear. They are stamped into the truck's tailgate, with the name all in capital letters. Although the body of the electric pickup truck appears to be in silver color, the top part of the vehicle is completely black.

Fisker's first two vehicles are way behind the promised schedule. With this in mind, it will come as no surprise if this teased electric pickup truck will be on schedule. Nevertheless, since Fisker promised that its own electric pickup truck would be developed under a different platform, some in the auto community have suggested that it might be a large SUV which is closely similar to that of the Rivian R1S.

Should Fisker decide to enter the electric car market, the company is looking into a very competitive segment. Tesla is already working on its own electric pickup truck, and Tesla chief executive officer Elon Musk has confirmed that the truck will be unveiled this fall. On the other hand, Ford has already confirmed that it is developing a hybrid variant of its popular F-150 pickup truck. Moreover, the company said that it is also working on a fully electric model of the pickup truck. General Motors also confirmed that it is developing its own electric pickup truck.

As for Fisker, the company Emotion electric car is scheduled to be launched this year. However, the company has pushed the official launch in order to continue its work on the development of solid-state batteries.
