Charlie Nicholas has something to say about Manchester United. The Arsenal hero strongly believes that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer must sell stars Alexis Sanchez and Paul Pogba this month. On Thursday, the English summer transfer window closed but there's still time for Premier League clubs to offload as other countries still have different closure dates.
Pogba has been reported to leave Old Trafford and is interested in moving to Real Madrid. As for Sanchez, he hasn't exactly had the best luck in Manchester United since moving from Arsenal last year in January.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Nicholas shared his opinions regarding Solskjaer: "Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is trying to get certain players out and certain players in. We will know the formation and style by Sunday."
"Romelu Lukaku has gone, and he will have to sell Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez too - he has another three weeks or so to do that," Nicholas added. "What an absolute belter of a game to start the campaign.""
Solskjaer considers Lukaku as "one of the top number nines around" following a £73m move to Inter on Thursday. He also said that Man Utd has no plans of replacing him due to the existing options in the team.
Along with Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, and Paul Pogba, Lukaku was one of four United players to net double digits in the Premier League. The four players had reached goal milestone in a single season since 1995/1996 for the first time.
Lukaku's departure apparently doesn't bother Solskjaer, who remains confident the squad will score goals along with new addition Daniel James and resurgent Jesse Lingard. He also still has Alexis Sanchez at his disposal, and he is planning very much with the Chilean in mind.
There are also plans for 17-year-old Mason Greenwood, who Solskajer plans to include as a fully-fledged member of the first time squad. Greenwood has played several games last season and made a name for himself during the summer, showing maturity in spite of his age. His potential was one of the reasons why Lukaku's replacement wasn't one of Man Utd's agenda.
United will host Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday in their first game of the new Premier League season. A new addition to the club Harry Maguire has impressed Solskjaer since he arrived on the weekend, while Paul Pogba has shaken off a pre-season injury also to put himself in contention.
