Neymar would take a pay cut of 15 million euros to leave Paris Saint-Germain and rejoin Barcelona, says Guillem Balague of BBC Radio 5 Live. The Spanish club has already made several offers to get the Brazilian on board, including one with 100 million euros plus Philippe Coutinho. But PSG didn't want any of the bids and is looking to get more money out of the player.
Coutinho has been in conflict with La Blaugrana's supporter base for much of his time in the north-east, whilst Neymar has been equally unpopular with fans at the Parc des Princes following a series of controversies.
"Neymar is happy to reduce his wages from 38 million euros net to 23 million euros net," said Balague. "It is an interesting situation at Barcelona. They feel they have to try really hard to get him back."
Balague added that Luis Suarez, Gerard Pique, and Lionel Messi all want Neymar back. Club president Josep Maria Bartomeu is also keen on getting the PSG forward back because "he wants to leave a big legacy" in the remaining 2 years in his mandate.
According to reports, Neymar has been cast out of the PSG training squad, although that is understood to be part of a scheduled program rather than related to the transfer saga.
Neymar has been heavily linked with both Barcelona and Real Madrid, though reports imply that PSG seems to be more in favor of Barcelona. The Brazilian's goal is to rejoin his former club, Barca, but he's not exactly "against the idea" of making a move to Real Madrid, according to Joaquim Piera and Lluis Miguelsanz of Sport.
When asked about Neymar's potential move, Barca boss Ernesto Valverde appeared non-committal, but mentioned he was "very happy with the squad."
It has been suggested Barca have offered Ivan Rakitic as a makeweight in a potential deal, but Valverde hopes the Croatia midfielder remains in Spain.
"He's a very important player for us, he has been for my two years here," he added. "I hope he will continue doing so."
Meanwhile, Real Madrid have also made several bids that include several of its players - both James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale - and an amount, which presumably, isn't enough for PSG. These bids have been rejected as well.
