We're months away from the supposed announcement of the PlayStation 5, and it will probably take more than a year before the much-awaited console is released. Already, Sony has gone out to confirm some of the device's specs on more than one occasion, but the company has kept mum about its design.
It's safe to say everybody is pretty excited what the next PlayStation would look like, and it looks we may have an idea now. There's a new Sony design patent discovered in Brazil that reveals what the PS5 console could look like. The design was then confirmed by a game developer in a tweet.

Some guys at Sony must have reached out to the developer because it has since been deleted. But as expected, some keen-eyed observers were able to take screenshots, and now it's a hot topic over at Twitter.
It got people talking for sure, and they're not happy. Fans took notice of the odd deep V shape of the supposed PS5, a design choice alluding to the fact that it's Sony fifth PlayStation. Others were skeptic, but if the image is real, the vents will serve quite well when it comes to cooling the device.
The developer linked to a story about this new Sony patent, saying that his company already has some PS5 development kits in its office. As you can see in the image above, he went on to add the patent that shows a PS5 dev kit, or maybe even the console itself.
Another tweet that people took notice as well is from a user who posted images showing the PS5 dev kit from various angles.

It sure is too early to say that this is what the PS5 will look when it ships next year, but the patent Sony filed in Brazil features a design that has actually been used before by the company.
The PlayStation 5 is expected to launch in February during the PlayStation Meeting 2020 press event. That's several months away from now, and they're sure is time for more leaks. Until then, let's just hope Sony has something better in mind.
