The long wait is over. Taylor Swift's most-awaited seventh album, Lover, is now available. Housing 18 tracks, four of which are already released and it seems that fans can't get enough of the artist's pure pop material offerings.
On the first minute of August 23, Lover has been finally released after teasing the album since the early months of 2019. And in less than 24 hours, all of the new tracks have created marks in various platforms.
According to Vanity Fair, Taylor's newly released album poses as today's "key" to pop music survival. Thanks to her new tracks that are of pure pop, the whole album might take pop into a whole next level.
The publication further tipped that Lover is Taylor's next best after Red. Of course, Reputation may not be everyone's best choice considering how critics saw it as a product of the ME! singer's "trying hard" bad persona. And while there are some good tracks that made a name under the sixth album, it seems that the fans and critics favor much more the new Taylor and her new music.
It is worth mentioning though that while Taylor Swift's new music is well-loved, ME! did not beat Lil Nas X's Old Town Road when it first arrived last April. As it happened, it took the second spot next to the country rap track.
The same thing also happened to You Need To Calm Down and The Archer. While the former has become a real controversial track due to its seemingly LGBTQ theme, it wasn't enough for it to become the number one on charts.
Currently, the most favored tracks on the album are Daylight and Cruel Summer. And according to Billboard, these are some of Lover's "most successful" items that largely show Taylor Swift's "maximalist" pop music in recent times.
Another point being considered for this case is the fact that the album is very much personal to Taylor. Although almost all of her songs and albums are products of her experiences, Lover seems to take place on a much more different level of personal experiences.
Aside from the very obvious love life that she has with Joe Alwyn for "three summers" now, which is a huge nod to the titular track, the album also features Soon You'll Get Better, a collaboration track with Dixie Chicks that largely focuses on her mother's battle with cancer. And per E!, Taylor Swift revealed that she wouldn't be performing this song on stage as this is a very personal one for her.
