For months now, the fans of New Amsterdam have been wondering about the final events that occurred on the show's first-ever finale. And with only a few weeks left before the second season's premiere, it seems that the fans can no longer contain the excitement for what is to come.
The second season renewal was indeed good news for the fans and production. However, the plot for the upcoming will kick-off in a very heartbreaking way. While it may not be a good start for the new season, many fans are already expecting this.
In the last moments of New Amsterdam Season 1, Dr. Lauren Bloom tried to save Georgia's life, along with her baby. Although she performed life-threatening surgeries, they were able to pull through. Afterward, they headed to the hospital via the ambulance together with Max.
While onboard, everything seems to be going well for the family and the passengers of the ambulance. But things went south when the ambulance caught in an accident. This has become the show's greatest cliffhanger since all passengers are seen to be in a rough situation.
But before ending the season for good, the fans have witnessed Max along with his baby walking away from the crash site as per Cheat Sheet. An unconscious Georgia is also seen in the incident, but many fans are convinced that she is alive.
Accordingly, this leaves Dr. Lauren and Dr. Bloom. And no one is certain if one or both of them is/are dead or alive.
This shocking twist caused many fans and viewers to wonder what will happen next to New Amsterdam. So when the renewal came, it has become a hopeful event that they may all have survived the crash as per E!.
However, all hopes for everyone's safety has been pretty much shattered. As it happened, the New Amsterdam heads and bosses revealed that someone from the crew would die immediately after airing the first episode as a nod to the finale of the previous season.
It has also been shared in previous interviews that the plot of Season 2 will feature a few time jumps before and after the events of the ambulance crash. Also, there are hints that these time jumps will somehow play integral roles in the focal point of the season.
Although these details have already given the fans an idea on how the new season will go, there is still no assurance of what will truly happen with its actual course. But fortunately, the show is about to premiere.
New Amsterdam Season 2 will kick off on September 24, on NBC.
