Dancing With The Stars season 28 is still weeks away from its premiere on ABC but this early, the show has been marred with controversies. Professional dancer Artem Chigvintsev recently voiced out his concerns for the dance competition and cited that there's "negative energy" looming over the current season.

Chigvintsev is not going to be part of Dancing With The Stars season 28. After 10 years on the popular reality dance show, Chigvintsev learned that he was cut along with fellow pro-Sharna Burgess just right after ABC announced the new cast.

In a podcast interview with The Bellas, Chigvintsev said that before the announcement came, he was 99 percent sure that he would be on Dancing With The Stars season 28. But the Russian dancer learned of his fate by confirming with one of the show's producers a few days before the network was to make their announcement.

"I dedicated 10 years of my life to that company," Chigvintsev said. "And getting let go three days before an announcement, that's like a punch in the stomach, really."

Chigvintsev also told Entertainment Tonight that he could not imagine watching Dancing With The Stars season 28 if only to support his fellow dancers. He said that if he's going to tune in to the show, all those bad feelings might likely just return.

The professional dancer, however, said that he might look up on some YouTube clips of Dancing With The Stars season 28. But with so much negativity surrounding the current season, Chigvintsev said that he would rather channel his energy elsewhere and "concentrate on the positives."

Chigvintsev worked with Nancy Kerrigan, Patti LaBelle, and his girlfriend Nikki Bella in previous seasons of Dancing With The Stars.

Meanwhile, former White House press secretary and controversial politician Sean Spicer is going to compete on Dancing With The Stars season 28. The announcement has been met with varying reactions from shock and surprise.

President Donald Trump tweeted that Spicer will do great on in the competition. But host Tom Bergeron said that he's slightly disappointed in the casting because he wanted to keep politics off the dancing show.

Also joining Dancing With The Stars season 28 are Lauren Alaina, Christy Brinkley, Ally Brooke, Hannah Brown, Karamo Brown, Kate Flannery, Ray Lewis, Kel Mitchell, Lamar Odom, James Van Der Beek, and Mary Wilson. The show returns on Sept. 16 on ABC.
