Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have skipped a visit to the Queen's summer house this year. The Sussex royals have not gone to Balmoral despite an invitation to spend a couple of days there with the rest of the royal family.

According to The Sun, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex turned down the invitation because their son, Archie Harrison, was still too young. The baby is four months old, yet it was not lost on the insider who revealed the rejection that Archie has been to two different countries with his parents in the last few weeks.

"Harry and Meghan had no plans to go to Balmoral this summer as they felt Archie was too young," the source stated. "It's a bit odd, as his age didn't stop them taking him to Ibiza for a week and then to see Elton John in France."

The source also instigated that the real reason Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are skipping Balmoral with their son is that the duchess herself isn't keen on the summer activities at the Queen's summer house. Since the royals love to hunt and shoot animals, Duchess Meghan apparently wouldn't enjoy this visit. She sat out one of their hunting trips before, and Prince Harry went by his lonesome to join his family.

The report went on to say that the Queen is disappointed by Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan's decision to skip going to Balmoral. Last year, the royal couple also did not go because the duchess was pregnant with their first baby at that time.

Meanwhile, Prince William, his wife Kate Middleton and their three children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis -- have visited the Queen this summer. They took a commercial flight to spend the bank holiday weekend with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip last August, but they returned soon after in London to do their royal duties.

Duchess Kate, however, returned to Balmoral and was spotted with the Queen going to a Sunday service, per Elle. They two women waved to the crowd and happily talked with each other in their chauffeur-driven car while Prince William was in the front seat. The kids, however, didn't seem to join the adults for the church.

Every summer since the late 1800s, the royal family troop to Balmoral. The Queen has made it a summer tradition following her ancestors' practice. Even Prince Harry's cousins and their children were at the castle last month.
