The Apple 2019 event is happening in a few days from now. Consumers are expecting a new set of exciting products coming from the Cupertino tech giant, including new iPhones, new software, new products, and accessories. But, while the iPhone 11 is yet to be unveiled, a new set of details about the 2020 iPhone were recently spilled online by a reputable Apple insider and analyst.
Ming-Chi Kuo has been providing the tech community with reliable and invaluable inside news about Apple and its upcoming products. Recently, the reliable analyst shared new predictions about the next generation Apple iPhones, which in this article, we will call 2020 iPhones. According to Kuo, the biggest selling points of 2020 iPhones will be its all-new form factor design, upgrades to camera functions, and support to 5G technology.
The Cupertino-based tech giant will wait for 2020 until it rolls out major design changes to its flagship iPhones according to Kuo's latest predictions. This aligns with earlier leaks showing that the iPhone 11 series has the same design as the iPhone X and XA except for the new square camera bulge. The analyst did not give more details about the all-new design of 2020 iPhones or what the new camera specs would be.
But, it is worth noting that Kuo's previous statements revealed that the 2020 iPhones rear camera would have time of flight sensors. He previously said that the 2020 iPhones will have camera configurations that will enhance the quality of the images taken and will even feature augmented reality. Ming-Chi Kuo also predicted earlier that the 2020 iPhone will have 5.4-inches and 6.7-inches OLED display and will drop the 5.8-inches and 6.8-inches display that the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max have.
In terms of 5G support, Kuo predicted that the technology will be present in 2020 iPhones but not in this year's iPhone series despite competing brands rolling out models with next-generation cellular connectivity. Other predictions by the analyst include the ultra-wideband technology that will be featured in the iPhone 11 series that will introduce a new antenna design. Previously, Kuo said that the iPhone 11 lineup will feature UWB support.
Recently, however, the Apple insider shared that the Cupertino-based tech giant will introduce the new iBeacons that leverage improvements in short-range radio technology that could enhance indoor navigation on the devices. Meanwhile, Bloomberg earlier reported that the 2020 iPhones will introduce in-display fingerprint technology. The feature reportedly will work along with the Face ID facial recognition scanning technology for an added layer of security.
