iPhone 11 is the safest iPhone just yet. and by safest, critics meant boring.
According to those who tuned in to the recent Apple event for the launching of the iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max phones, most of the features of these phones are not even new in the smartphone world. This means that even the most loyal fans might be questioning themselves whether to get the phones.
According to CNET, the features that come with Apple's iPhone 11 Pro are nothing new. Having three cameras is not that exciting, even if it is certainly new among iPhones. Other phones already have three cameras way earlier. Huawei Mate 20 already has this feature last year. The special low-light mode is not new as well. Owners of the Pixel 3 has already been enjoying Google's Night Sight for a year now.
These new phones might be a tad more exciting if they have 5G, but Apple has been silent about this technology on this event. In contrast, its staunch rivals, Samsung, Huawei, OnePlus and other brands are already said to be experimenting with this next generation of wireless technology and are not afraid to say so.
That said, some critics just might not see the point of buying these new iPhones. The upgrades are not that exciting. In fact, the critics claimed that the last time Apple has been exciting was still way back in 2008. "Apple has not really delivered a revolutionary iPhone since the first high-speed 3G version with App Store way back in 2008," shared Neil Mawston, an analyst at Strategy Analytics.
The heads of Apple though are singing a different tune, as they should. "These are the most powerful and stunning iPhones we've ever built," CEO Tim Cook said during his keynote presentation on stage while unveiling the newest iPhones.
"This is the first phone we've called Pro," Phil Schiller, head of the company's marketing also said. "That means it's a device that pros can count on." Whether or not this is true depends on the actual user experience of course, which is linked to whether or not they will even buy the phone.
Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak might be the most convincing supporter though because he has been critical of Apple's iPhone releases in the past. And yet, he is now telling CNET now that "the new phones exceeded my expectations, by far." Who knows?
