Apple's iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max are yet to hit the stores, but we haven't forgotten that the Cupertino giant still has upcoming handsets for 2020 - and there's a very good reason to be excited.
The 2020 iPhones have been rumored to have support for 5G, which is a first for Apple. At least one model will feature 5G compatibility, and there's a huge possibility that all iPhones coming out next year will be able to take advantage of a faster network.
As for modem suppliers, both Samsung and Qualcomm have been linked, but Apple will produce its own 5G-capable chips in the future since 2020 seems a tad too early for its own chips to be ready.
Like the previous iPhones, iPhone 12 will likely debut in the month of September next year. Apple loves introducing their brand new phones during this month, so there's no reason why the 2020 iPhones will be different.
Although, September might be too late for Apple, as other companies will have already launched their 5G-compatible devices by then. But the company holding an iPhone event earlier than September seems an unlikely move, but we'll keep tabs on it.
As for the price, most 5G phones coming out this year are naturally more expensive than the conventional models. For example, the Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G is $200 more than the standard Note 10 Plus. The Galaxy S10 5G is also priced way higher than the already pricey Galaxy S10.
5G networks will also be farther along than they are now, with 5G coverage limited to select neighbors in just a few cities. So though Apple will come out with 5G devices later than Samsung, LG and others, the iPhone 12 could be arriving right as 5G becomes more relevant to more people.
Apple hasn't confirmed all the reports concerning its iPhone 12 range, but what we know about it mostly comes from long-time analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has previously predicted that there will be three different models next year. There will be a huge iPhone measuring 6.7 inches, another at 6.1 inches, and one at 5.4 inches.
There are also rumors suggesting that 2019 could be the last year in which we'll see an LCD iPhone. Next year and onwards, all of the phones coming from Apple will have OLED displays.
Then again, we have a lot to learn about the 2020 iPhones, so be sure to watch out for all the news as we try and cover each one of them.
