Several tech sites reported earlier today what appears to be the first physical leak of Apple's next-generation iPad Pro. The leaked image is a final mockup of the upcoming device and is shown to have a triple-lens camera setup in the corner. The next-generation iPad Pro seems to be getting the same camera bump that consumers now see in the recently launched Apple iPhone 11 Pro.

The latest leak is allegedly showing the next-generation Apple iPad Pro seems to conform to the Chinese rumors that circulated online last August. It came from Sony Dickinson and is not the production-ready model but just a final mockup of the upcoming Apple tablet. The image shows a tree camera setup enclosed in a square.

Interestingly, unlike the camera bump of iPhone 11 Pro, where the third lens is on the side and placed halfway between the other two cameras, the leaked image shows a flash as a part of the four points of interest. In other words, the iPad Pro setup places every element in each quadrant. Considering that the image is just a mockup, some of its elements could still change, considering that it is indeed a genuine leak.

What is interesting about this leak is that the camera bump seems to lack the glass elements that cover the whole surface of the bump, the camera lenses, and the flash. The lack of the glass, along with the positioning of the lenses throws doubt on whether the latest leak is indeed an Apple mockup. The publication, however, claims that it got the final design mockup from a source that has a credible record of leaks when it comes to past iPad hardware.

A deeper look at the leaked next-generation iPad Pro model reveals some more clues. This includes a relatively bareback aside from the customary Apple logo and the iPad branding. It also shows the Smart Connector into the base.

Based on current speculations, the Cupertino-based tech giant will be holding another event this year to launch its next-generation iPad Pro. The event allegedly will be in October, just in time to mark the anniversary of the time Apple launched its current iPad Pro line. The Cupertino-based tech titan recently launched the 10.2-inch generation seven iPad.

It is the first model to feature the Smart Connector. It was also released with a bigger Retina display and packs support for Apple Pencil and fill-size Smart Keyboard. If Apple is upgrading the camera of the next-generation iPad Pro, it could imply that the tablets no longer fall behind its iPhone siblings.
