All American Season 2 is about to hit the small screen; thus, everyone is preparing for Spencer James (Daniel Ezra) and the rest of the cast's return. The CW has dropped the second season's trailer, showing the football star torn between what he wants and needs to do.

In an exclusive look from E! News, Spencer seemed torn between staying at Beverly Hills High and going back to his old school, South Crenshaw, to follow his dad. "I just don't understand why everything's gotta be so hard," he said at the beginning of the trailer.

To recall, Spencer helped Beverly Hills High's football team to a championship win. However, it looked like no one is thrilled about the fact he has a hard time to decide which school to choose. Coach Billy's (Taye Diggs) resignation as Beverly Hills' coach even adds up to his confusion.

Spencer doesn't know what to do anymore in All American Season 2. Billy is also facing another problem, as he may possibly be the father of Spencer's younger brother.

In an interview with Ezra and Diggs, the former revealed everything is going to get "real wild and dark" in the new season. "I love messy endings like that. It would have been so tragic to end it like that and not have a season two," Ezra said about the previous season's ending. "But I'm so glad we get to come back and actually start answering those questions. I hope...I just want it to get really, really messy."

Meanwhile, the show's cast described its release on Netflix as a "blessing." According to The CW president Mark Pedowitz, the series' debut was boosted by binging on the streaming giant that incited the decision for a renewal.

Cody Christian, who plays Asher Adams, said the order of All Americans Season 2 is a huge blessing. This allows them to return and explore the fans' much-loved characters. Diggs, on the other hand, added they are all hopeful and encouraged in knowing that they are all part of something special.

Season 1 ended with a huge championship win for Beverly High, along with two major cliffhangers: which school Spencer would choose and his little brother's paternity case. In an interview with Deadline, showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll revealed the second season would address these issues in an "unexpected way."

The new season would begin after the end of the regular football season, but not the new school year. Hence, it would be featuring "seven versus seven games." All Americans Season 2 is set to be out on Monday, Oct. 7, on The CW.
