Fans are now excited for Archer Season 11 after Archer himself has woken up following three years of being in a coma. Executive producer Casey Williams announced the news at the recent San Diego Comic-Con 2019. Now, it is a big question about what would happen next now that Archer returns.
FXX has yet to reveal what will be the new season's storyline, but the show revolved around different themes as the effect of Archer's coma. According to ScreenRant, these season-long themes have become a guide for a season's story.
After Archer fell in a coma in Season 7, Season 8 took the concept of Archer Dreamland, where he worked in the 1940s Angeles, featuring a noir film style. Season 9 was titled Danger Island, where he was seen on a deserted island in 1938, carrying Indiana Jones vibes. Lastly, Season 10 was called 1999, which showed the entire crew living and working aboard a salvage spaceship.
Now that Archer is awake, Archer Season 11 is expected to return to its original theme. It would continue the events that it left off in Season 7 before Archer got comatose.
In his three years in a coma, his mother, Malory, has been on his bedside all along. However, Gizmodo noted she never told him anything that had happened while he was asleep. Hence, there are theories it may happen in the new season.
This gives birth to a lot of theories about what will happen next to Archer Season 11. Archer may be once again seen as the wickedly funny spy that fans used to see. In fact, in an interview with Collider, Amber Nash, who plays Pam Poovey, hinted the same thing.
Nash revealed the world has gone on without Archer. So, the new season will explore how people will react with his return. While he's gone, the agency stays active, and people are still working; hence, it remains to be a big mystery what will be the changes when he arrives.
"I think going to be him kind of a fish out of water and people figuring out how to deal with Archer. After they've kind of moved on and he wants to be in charge because he thinks he's the best thing ever," Nash explained. "And so it's going to be fun to get back to those places and figure out what's going to happen."
Talking about Pam, Nash added she doesn't have any information what would happen to her character in Archer Season 11, but she assumed she had raised the ranks. She might be now in charge of something other than HR, as she heard a rumor about the plan to make everyone a field agent. The new season is expected to be out in 2020 on FXX.
