Counting On season 10 is arriving on TLC next month, and the upcoming installment will be the most dramatic so far from the Duggars since it will feature a tragic death. Based on the trailer of the new season, it seems like it will be completely different from the all previous seasons. So, here's what viewers can expect in the latest installment.
Counting On season 10 will feature ups and downs of the Duggar family, but it will particularly focus on the tragic death of Jim Bob's mother, grandma Mary Duggar. In early June, the family announced Mary suddenly passed away, and they took to social media to share their fondest memories of their grandma.
Most fans were shocked with the news, especially since Mary was often on the show and helped Jim Bob and Michelle taking care of the kids. Later on, Mary's cause of death was revealed; she accidentally fell in her pool one Sunday after church.
In the trailer of Counting On season 10, Jim Bob revealed how he learned his mother's death. He recalled that he got a call from his sister Deanna, the one who had found Mary. And then, his sister asked him to come quickly as their mom has passed away.
The trailer shows the funeral itself, as well as the procession leading to the cemetery. And, in response to the tragedy, Michelle said: "You just never know how much longer we'll have." Also, the trailer features Mary's grandchildren crying during her service, and her grandsons trying to stay strong as they speak about her in front of all who attended.
The Duggars are very religious; thanks to Mary and her strong ties to her faith. She and her husband raised Jim Bob to be as religious as he is today. The family also believes there's life beyond death; that's why they spend their lives working hard serving the Lord.
Aside from Mary's death, Counting On season 10 trailer also highlighted how many Duggar women were expecting. Jessa Duggar announced earlier this year she's expecting her third baby with Ben Seewald -- then, plenty of pregnancies followed. Lauren, Kendra, Joy, Anna, as well as Abbie, also announced their pregnancies.
The trailer also featured Jinger Duggar as she confronted the tensions between her and her mother. Jinger is said to the "biggest rebel" among the Duggars, and some of her decisions, reportedly, affected her relationship with her mother. It's unclear why she's tearing up, but from the looks of it, it seems like she needs to confront her issues with her mother.
Counting On season 10 will premiere on Tuesday, October 15, on TLC.
