God Friended Me season 2 is arriving on CBS later this week, and viewers will finally learn more about Joy, as well as the new mysteries around the God account. So, what will exactly happen when the new installment arrives?
At the end of the first season, Joy (Jessica Lu) was introduced as she got a suggestion from the God account. However, it's still a mystery why the owner of the account chose her and that will probably be shown in the upcoming God Friended Me season 2.
In the trailer of the latest installment, the name "Joy" seems to be an ironic name for someone who does not really have a lot of it. Joy isn't interested in doing the bidding of other people, particularly from someone who claims themselves as God.
Joy does not also consider herself as a "helping type," and she's not interested in the idea being told what to do on social media. At first, she resists Miles' (Brandon Micheal Hall) thoughts about working together. But, later on, she started to rethink after learning he can help her.
Also, Arthur (Joe Morton) and Rakesh (Suraj Sharma) believe Miles is the perfect person to train Joy in the ways of the God account. The role of Joy in God Friended Me season 2 will be further explored. However, it remains unclear whether or not she will remain a part of the God Squad in the long run.
The new season will also expand the mythology of the God account, as well as the new mysteries around it. Perhaps, the new season will deal with the fact that Miles is not the only person in contact with the account, and what that actually means for him.
Meanwhile, Cara (Violett Beane) is in Paris as she decided to go there and work on writing a book about Simon Hayes (Adam Goldberg). But, despite not being around with Miles, she's still part of the team and is learning something important about the God Account.
In a related report, Beane talked about the second season of the CBS series. In an interview, the actress shared it was a "totally new experience" working in Paris as an actor. Then, she teased her character will have a personal storyline in the new season.
"There's this three-episode arch that Cara goes on where she discovers more about herself, her relationship, and who she wants to be," Beane said.
God Friended Me season 2 will premiere on Sunday, September 29, on CBS.
